According to Forbes Executive Editor Brett Nelson, the publication took a “comprehensive approach to evaluate the health and potential” of these companies.
Forbes’ list teamed up with CB Insights, a Manhattan-based data firm that tracks investment in high-growth private companies, using their software to assign an algorithm-derived score to each company it considered, marrying that with its own reporting.
