Ambit IT Executive of the Year

Ambit Energy CIO John Burke has been selected IT Executive of the Year by The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Society for Information Management (DFW SIM Chapter) for helping advance the future of Information Technology. Burke received the award at a recent dinner ceremony, presented by the award’s selection committee chair Jack Becker.

The DFW SIM Chapter established the IT Executive of the Year Award in 1998 to recognize excellence in IT management within the Dallas/Fort Worth area. An independent panel of judges rates the nominees according to a certain performance criteria.
Burke has earned a variety of accolades for his accomplishments. Most recently, he was named one of the Computerworld “Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2010,” as well as one of the InformationWeek “Top 25 CTOs of 2010.”

Ambit Energy L.P. is a Dallas-based energy provider of electrical and natural gas services in deregulated markets across the United States, including Texas, Illinois, New York, Maryland and Pennsylvania.

ViSalus Goes Mobile with New Vi-Net Mobile App

During its application debut webinar May 18, ViSalus Sciences demoed its Vi-Net Mobile multi-platform application suite to over 10,000 Promoters of the Body by Vi 90-Day Challenge.

Available free of charge, the Promoters can now use the app to access and manage their business, show and enroll new members from any iPhone, Blackberry, or Android enabled smartphone. The application is available for download at http://mobile.visalus.com and also available on iTunes and in the Android Marketplace.

Nu Skin Receives Broader Direct Selling Authorization in Mainland China

Nu Skin announced that it received official notification from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce of its approval to commence direct selling activities in four additional provinces and one municipality in mainland China.

The provinces include Zhejiang, Guizhou, Sichuan, Shandong and the municipality of Tianjin. This is the fourth round of licenses granted to Nu Skin in China and adds to existing approvals in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.

SeneGence International Announces Expansion into the UK

After 11 years of exponential growth in the United States, Australia, Canada and Indonesia, SeneGence International announced its expansion into the United Kingdom.

SeneGence Founder and CEO Joni Rogers-Kante shared that the method of international expansion will begin by first introducing the company’s LipSense collection, and then progressively introducing its cosmetics and anti-aging skincare products.

Carl Edwards to Drive WFG Ford in NASCAR Race

World Financial Group Inc. (WFG) has joined forces with NASCAR-series championship team Roush Fenway Racing to sponsor the No. 60 World Financial Group Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Nov. 12 at the Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz. The No. 60 WFG Ford will be driven by the 2007 Nationwide Series Champion Carl Edwards.

A native of Columbia, Mo., Edwards has accumulated two NASCAR-sanctioned track championships, three Rookie-of-the-Year honors, and more than 75 feature wins while racing on both dirt and pavement tracks across the country.

WFG will sponsor a 100-day show car program this year in conjunction with Roush Fenway Racing, featuring a touring World Financial Group Ford Mustang that will be showcased at various World Financial Group office locations nationwide. The 2011 show car program runs from June to November.

Edwards will also speak to attendees at the World Financial Group Convention of Champions in August, the annual meeting and training event for WFG’s independent, licensed insurance and financial services associates throughout the United States and Canada.

WFG, an AEGON company, is a financial services marketing company whose affiliates offer life insurance and a broad array of financial products and services.

The Healthy Home Book Hits Five Best-Sellers Lists

The Healthy Home, a new book by Dr. Myron Wentz and his son Dave Wentz, founder and CEO of USANA Health Sciences, respectively, contains simple solutions for making a home healthier.
