Thirty-One Gifts Founder Launches New Company
Cindy Monroe, Thirty-One Gifts Founder, announced a new direct selling opportunity for women called Jewell. Jewell will offer trendy fashion handbags, totes, belts, scarves and accessories sold through invitation-only boutiques.
The Jewell brand formally launched on April 8, 2013, and is aimed at women who have a significant attitude for fashion. With almost 50 styles to choose from, Jewell handbags and accessories are trendy and tied to the season in styles, colors and prints. A unique pocket system, in which pockets snap in and out of different handbags, and interchangeable straps are also available.
Monroe says she hopes to reach a new demographic with Jewell, but retain her mission of helping women run their own businesses and earn their own incomes.
Thirty-One Gifts is a direct seller that offers products that work with everyone’s lifestyle, from stylish and functional purses and totes to home organization solutions and much more, most of which can be personalized. There are more than 100,000 independent Thirty-One consultants nationwide.
Avon Communications Awards Combat Violence Against Women
In recognition of International Women’s Day, Avon Foundation for Women Ambassador Salma Hayek Pinault awarded four global organizations and one government campaign with the 2nd Avon Communications Awards: Speaking Out About Violence Against Women for their outstanding work to bring attention to the need to end this violence.
The awards, presented at the United Nations Headquarters during the 57th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, are part of the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program, which has donated nearly $50 million globally to end violence against women since its launch in 2004.
In addition to Avon CEO Sheri McCoy and Salma Hayek Pinault, Liberian Ambassador Marjon V. Kamara; Ambassador Rosemary A. DiCarlo, U.S. Deputy Permanent Representative, U.S. Mission to the United Nations; and Futures Without Violence President Esta Soler participated in the awards ceremony. ABC News Anchor Bianna Golodryga moderated the event.

Natura Named Brazil’s Most Valuable Brand
Interbrand, the world’s largest brand consultancy, identified Natura Cosméticos as Brazil’s most valuable brand. According to Interbrand’s analysis, Natura has built a strong relationship with consumers through continually reinventing and growing its portfolio and remaining focused on sustainability. Throughout 2012, Natura demonstrated a strong commitment to innovation, including a $170 million investment in research and development.
Interbrand’s methodology takes into account the many ways in which a brand touches and benefits its organization, with a focus on three key factors: the financial performance of the branded products, the role of brand in the purchase decision process and the strength of the brand.
In other company news, Natura was designated as one of the World’s Most Ethical (WME) Companies in Ethisphere magazine’s globally recognized ranking. WME honorees not only promote ethical business standards and practices internally, but also exceed legal compliance minimums and shape future industry standards by introducing best practices today.

Direct Sellers Named to Fortune Most Admired Companies List
For the sixth consecutive year Tupperware Brands Corp. was recognized as one of the “World’s Most Admired Companies” in the Home Equipment category of the annual ranking from Fortune. Tupperware reclaimed its second-place ranking in the category, surpassing industry peers including Stanley Black & Decker and Steelcase. Tupperware was noted for the quality of its products and services, global competitiveness and social responsibility, ranking first within the industry in those categories.
Berkshire Hathaway, parent company of direct sellers Kirby, The Pampered Chef and World Book, also received recognition from Fortune, ranking No. 8 overall on the 2013 list of the World’s Most Admired Companies.
Released annually, the Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies list is seen as the definitive report card on corporate reputation. The rankings reflect the observations and opinions of industry executives, directors and analysts on multiple criteria, from investment value to social responsibility.

Momentis Offers Carbon Offset Program
Momentis announced the launch of JustGreen™ Lifestyle, a green energy initiative designed to educate and empower everyone—from students to families and businesses—to learn more about their impact on the planet and what they can do to curb harmful carbon emissions linked to climate change.

CUTCO Featured on History Channel
CUTCO Cutlery was recently featured alongside American brewer Samuel Adams on the new History Channel show What People Earn. The show’s premiere episode, titled “Beer, Knives & Football,” spotlighted the 115-year-old manufacturer’s KA-BAR Knives. The show goes behind the scenes at various workplaces across America to discover how much people make and how they earn it. CUTCO also appeared in Parade magazine’s March 10 companion piece on the new show.

Neways Announces Thailand Opening
Continuing its Asian expansion, Neways has now opened in Thailand, the company’s 30th global market. Neways recently hosted a launch event at its new Bangkok showroom, which features the latest new product offerings, interactive product displays and Neways branding.

Rodan + Fields Plans Expansion into New Headquarters
Rodan + Fields Dermatologists has more than doubled its current office space with a new lease on a 62,500-square-foot space on San Francisco’s Spear Street. The rapidly growing company will move into five floors of the building next summer. President and General Manager Lori Bush reports that the company has experienced a monthly revenue jump of 250 percent over the last two years, exceeding $100 million in sales in 2012 alone.

To add a personal touch to any celebration, Stampin’ Up! has launched its new “Simply Sent” iPhone app. Users can design and create customized greetings cards and then send them directly from their iPhone for free. They can also choose from existing templates, or create their own and share them via email, Facebook or Twitter.
Designed for Stampin’ Up!’s crafting fans, users can add photos, choose fonts, pick backgrounds and select from a selection of stamps and ornaments such as buttons and ribbons.
