U.S. Congressman Andy Barr (R-KY) recently met with employees of Direct Selling Association (DSA) member Scentsy at its warehouse facility in his hometown of Lexington, Ky.
Rep. Barr toured the warehouse and observed as 200 employees picked, kitted and packed products for delivery to more than 108,000 Scentsy Consultants across the United States.
“I enjoyed getting an opportunity to visit with employees at Scentsy’s Lexington facility, and I appreciate the company’s willingness to provide job opportunities for hundreds of constituents in my hometown of Lexington,” said Rep. Barr. “Scentsy’s recognition of the city as a critical logistical hub in the United States makes them a valued member of our community. I look forward to watching Scentsy grow and prosper in Kentucky for years to come.”
Scentsy chose the Lexington location for its distribution warehouse based on its proximity to two-thirds of the U.S. population to which it serves.
“Sharing our warehouse facility with Congressman Barr provided our team with the opportunity to connect in-person with their elected official and discuss issues that are of everyday concern to them,” said Mark Stastny, chief marketing officer for Scentsy and member of the DSA Board Directors. “It’s exciting to see Congressman like Rep. Barr continuing to be involved on a local level in his hometown.”
The Direct Selling Association, the national trade organization for the direct selling industry, works with member companies like Scentsy and executive leaders such as Stastny to identify opportunities to meet their elected officials.
