USANA Health Sciences worked with Foodbank Australia and Foodbank NSW & ACT to support their Foodbank Key Staples Program and Banana Program. USANA announced a $100,000 donation to the organization to support its picking, packing and transportation of fresh fruit and vegetables from farms to Foodbank warehouses across the country that serve food insecure communities.
According to Foodbank Australia, protein and fresh fruit and vegetables are the first things families are forced to remove from their shopping lists when experiencing financial pressure. USANA’s donation will provide access to fresh food and healthy nutrition for everyday Australians.
“On average in one week, 1.2 million meals went out of Foodbank NSW & ACT which goes to show you the scale of how big the operation is here,” said Rochelle Potter, USANA Regional General Manager for Australia and New Zealand. “I feel really proud to be associated and partner with such an amazing organization that’s really helping those that are struggling to put food on the table for their families. As a USANA family, we have come together to support this initiative, and to further support our community who are doing it tough.”
USANA’s philanthropic initiative also provided support for disaster relief efforts following the country’s bushfires.
