Seldia, the European Direct Selling Association, has made updates to its European Codes of Conduct for Direct Selling. The Seldia General Assembly adopted a revised version of this code, as well as a guide to help members as they seek to implement the 2021 codes.
These updates build upon the preexisting guidance from enforcement authorities and advertising self-regulatory organizations, both in Europe and beyond. Specifically, the guide aims to address direct selling and social media.
European Direct Selling associations will have until the end of the year (December 31, 2021) to transpose new codes provisions locally. The deadline for companies to reflect the European and national changes in their materials and in practice is June 30, 2022.
