At the Top Workplaces USA awards, sponsored by USA Today, as well as the Middle Tennessee Top Workplaces, sponsored by The Tennessean, Southwestern Family of Companies was recognized as a Top Workplace 2024.

Southwestern Family of Companies announced it will be spinning off a selection of its imprints to Capen Publishing Company. Since 1865, SWFC has been actively engaged in the publishing business, particularly cookbooks, but the company’s imprints Favorite Recipes Press, Quail Ridge Press, Beckon Books, Blue Sneaker Press, Greenwich Publishing, and Historic Hospitality Books will now be under the leadership of Chris Capen, who has served as president of Southwestern Publishing House since 2016.
